Take a drive to the RV park near Asheville

A look at the map will unveil that there is a RV park near Asheville. These give visitors simple access to the mountain peaks of 2000-6684 feet, culminating in the highest peak in the east, Mount Mitchell.

For those who are looking forward to experience the high country, with views and peaks over 5000 feet, but don’t want to go for the scary hikes that are part of the itinerary, there are two incredible options to do that.

From Asheville, you have to drive north on the Parkway. While visiting a RV site near Hendersonville, Mount Mitchell may be noticed first, then Craggy Gardens.  Select either route for a scenic drive where you will experience the most breathtaking views on the Blue Ridge Mountains that can be viewed right from your car window.

From the Town Mountain road or South Asheville, it is a 30 to 45 minute drive north. There are numerous bald mountains at a similar height in the Western North Carolina region, but most can’t be reached by car. You may also go to the DuPont State Forest campground and have a great time there. On the top of the mountain, the landscape is filled with other types of scrub and flowering plants.

Many visitors to Western North Carolina are unaware that the highest mountain peak in the East is just a 45 minute to 1 hour drive to Asheville.  Although some hard rock climbers make their way to the DuPont State Forest campground, most favour to drive to the peak of Mount Mitchell travelling through the Blue Ridge Parkway.  You can take the parkway north from Asheville and cross the Craggy gardens to milepost 350. However, before heading up to Mount Mitchell and Craggy Gardens, check the weather update for the day.
